The Brilliance of Inclusion

Learning Objectives:                                

• Define and differentiate diversity and inclusion

Simply put:  The Brilliance of Inclusion is about providing an environment where individuals can be authentically who they are.  Why?  When you can provide an atmosphere of inclusion, individuals feel more appreciated, valued and respected.  When individuals feel more appreciated, valued and respected, they will SHINE!  In this workshop, we will look at the definition of diversity as a multi-dimensional concept, differentiate between diversity and inclusion, examine our own perceptions of individuals who are different from ourselves, discuss the value of working with a diverse group of individuals and the brilliance of inclusion.  This workshop is highly engaging and active participation is strongly suggested.  Join us as we have fun while learning!

BIO - Tameka L. Taylor, Ph.D and Ruth E Ramos

Tameka L. Taylor, Ph.D and Ruth E. Ramos are partners and consultant of Compass Consulting Services, LLC, an organizational development firm which provides customized training on diversity management and inclusion, team building, conflict management, communication and leadership.  Combined they have over 25 years of experience facilitating discussions on diversity issues for both youth and adults in all sectors.  They engage participants in difficult, but honest, conversations around respect and inclusion in the workplace in a non-threatening manner where participants gain awareness and skills.  Their passion lies in assisting organizations change their culture to be more inclusive for all and believe that an inclusive environment is essential for an organization to perform at its optimal level. Tameka and Ruth are dedicated to this work and believe that it can have a rippling effect which would result in creating stronger communities.
