NOHRC Gives Back - Achievement Centers for Children

Achievements Centers for Children is honored to have been invited to participate in the 2012 Northern Ohio Human Resource Conference (NOHRC) at the Cleveland IX Center on March 9, 2012 and to be the beneficiary of the conference 50/50 raffle.

The mission of the Achievement Centers for Children is to enable and empower children with disabilities and their families to grow, learn, play and prepare for lifelong achievement in society. We provide a broad range of services and programs for children with disabilities and special needs. The nearly 4,000 children and families that benefit from our services may be your employees, friends, family, or others in our community. We offer:

  • Education and Autism Services
  • Therapy Services
  • Recreation and Adapted Sports
  • Family Support Services

Did you know?

  • Developmental disabilities are common:  about 1 in 6 children in the U.S. had a developmental disability in 2006-2008 according to the Center for Disease Control (CDC).
  • The prevalence of children with autism is 1 in 110, and continues to increase.

If you have employees with children with disabilities, we invite them to call and talk with one of our social workers or tour our facilities. Our social workers can help identify resources, and programs to help their children “be all they can be.” Our social workers can also direct them to community resources outside our agency.

We welcome the opportunity to speak with participants at our table at the NOHRC conference. We will be accepting donations of art supplies and books to be used in our autism classrooms (preschool and K-5) at our locations in Highland Hills and Westlake, and with our over 1,700 campers that come to Camp Cheerful in Strongsville each year.
